An Overdue Explanation

An Overdue Explanation

I think I owe you all an explanation...

You may or may not have noticed that I haven't been posting in quite some time so I figured it was about time I did some explaining.

During my latest project Blogmas, I was happy with where my blog was headed but since December has passed, I have really lacked in inspiration. I had a few posts planned for January but just felt like they weren't worth writing, yet alone reading. I'm not sure if it's because I was blogged out from December, but I just haven't happy with the posts I created for you guys!

However, it's now half way through February and I'm still just not feeling it and this, I put down to lack of direction. I am unsure where my blog is headed and I feel like it isn't going anywhere - like it is stationary. It remains at a point where my content is at the same level of quality, impact, views and flair.

I have a rule that if it isn't something I'd want to read, I wouldn't post it. Right now, I wouldn't want to read anything miss perceived posts. But seeing as there aren't many of you reading, I figured no one would realise I was gone and no one would miss me.

So here is my proposal. I am going to start over - new year, new look, new blog. I know I should have faith in myself but I think what I really want is a new brand. My blog will remain miss perceived course, but it is going to have a makeover. A rebrand.

What I am going to do is to take the time to redesign and rethink miss perceived. I will first be focusing on design and then when I am happy with my new look, I'll refocus on my content and my presence in the blogging community. I may upcycle some of the posts I had planned for you guys and I will definitely come back with some fresh ideas. This way, I am hoping I'll rediscover my passion for blogging and hopefully really give Miss Perceived the boost it needs.

Until then, I am going to carry on this break. Let's think of it as under maintenance.

In the meantime, I hope you all have had a lovely 2017 and I hope February goes well for you all!

Goodbye for now my lovelies!

Back To School Stationary Haul

Back To School Haul

With the start of the new school year, comes one perk that I always look forward to: New stationary!

There is no denying that I am a stationary addict and if I could, I'd buy out the Paperchase franchise and keep it all for myself. I'm not kidding... In all seriousness though, I really do have an unhealthy addiction to buying new stationary. Everything from pens, to notebooks, to new ring binders. It's just all so beautiful!

Although it's not all as beautiful as everything you'll find in Paperchase, I thought I'd share with you all the stationary I bought for my new school year.

A Little Something You Did Not Know

One thing I love about finding new blogs is discovering a blog's personality and finding out all of their little quirks, like posts hidden at the back of the archives, the writer's writing style, finding out how the blog began. It's actually really interesting to me. Every writer and blog has an individual style that is unique to them which is what makes reading them fun. It probably sounds weird, but being a new blogger means I pick up on these things quite easily. As I seek inspiration and guidance from other blogs, I spend hours reading through lots of them and there are some that just really stand out, and usually, these are the ones with a unique style and little quirks that make their blog different.

The Best Photography Accounts To Follow On Instagram

The Best Photography Accounts To Follow On Instagram

Instagram isn't only for sharing photos with your friends, it's an amazing platform for artists and photographers to share their work with the world. I love following photography accounts such as the ones I am about to share because they really help to brighten up my feed and add some interest to my
Instagram. It really makes a difference to see some good photography amongst the endless selfies and pictures of people's Starbucks or food, (we all see it all the time!)

The following 5 accounts I am about to share are mainly photographers snapping pictures of the beautiful scenery around them and a number of them have portraits of (beautiful) people in there too. Some of the photographs really inspire me and are all amazing. They make me quite envious of their photography skills! So here I present to you,

This boy's account is beyond beautiful. He must live in the most stunning area of Germany because the scenery he photographs is just breath-taking. For a 15 year old, he's very talented. If this account doesn't inspire you to travel and visit Germany, then nothing will!

Blogging - Starting Out

As you've either already realised from my limited range of content, or you're now discovering after browsing through my posts, I have only just started this blog and it has become an increasing, recent interest of mine. I have decided that I want to learn some new skills, develop a new hobby, and keep myself busy by creating content to put out there for the world to see. And as I'm also sure you can tell, I'm a complete newbie; I've never done this before and I have limited knowledge of the blogging world but that is what I am set out to conquer. I wish to become a better writer, photographer and designer and I hope to do that by creating content for this blog.

Let me start off by introducing myself and my intentions for this blog. My name is Freya and I'm a young student that is currently studying 4 A-levels: Maths, English Language, ICT and Geography. Though my future career choice is shrouded in mystery, I do know that I am an aspiring traveller and that my biggest dream, (as cliché as it may sound,) is to travel to countries across the world, experience different cultures and see the beautiful sights that this world has to offer. But while I'm stuck in my monotonous town in England, studying subjects that don't particularly excite me, I've decided to take up blogging to keep me interested in the meantime. Don't worry, I have no intention of this become a temporary blog; In fact, I hope to keep this going for a very long time.

I plan to post content regularly for you guys, that is of some purpose or value, whether that be for you or for me. I also hope to update my blog's design often until I find a design that I'm one hundred percent satisfied with and even then, I'm likely to change it around every so often
